Adobe Ip Address Block

  1. Use the IIS user interface to navigate to the IP Address and Domain Restrictions section to block an IP address. This can be done both on the individual site level by navigating to a specific site, or on a server-wide level by navigating up a few levels to the entire server.
  2. Adobe Connect consists of two servers, the application server (Tomcat) and the meeting server (FMS/AMS). Assuming your single Adobe Connect server only has a single IP address and one Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), you need to configure a second IP address and FQDN in DNS in order to bind the two Adobe Connect services to port 80.
  3. It’s not the IP address you want to block, it’s the MAC address. IP addresses (at least the more commonly dynamically assigned ones) are issued by a DHCP server running on your network (usually in your router), if you block an IP address, a user just needs to disconnect and reconnect, they will be issued a new unblocked IP in which you would need to block again, eventually all IPs would be blocked, even ones you personally would use.

Some clients' firewall configurations block IP addresses originating from Adobe's data collection servers or servers responsible for accessing data. The following list of IP address blocks covers the currently known addresses involved in the Adobe Marketing Cloud. You can use this list of ranges to alter your organization's firewall settings to.

There are many reasons you may want to block an IP address from accessing your site and i think you shouldn’t even need a reason to block anyone anyway.

Its your site so you should be allowed to block whoever you want.

You can also block a domain from accessing your site which will include all users who have registered for that website or blog.

The easiest way to block access to your website or blog is by using the IP Deny manager in cPanel.

What is an IP Address?

IP stands for Internet Protocol and contains your host address and location (address). There are generally 2 types of IP addresses. Static (an IP address which stays the same) and Dynamic (an IP address which changes).

Using IP Deny Manager in cPanel

Once you enter the domain name (without the www or http://) or the IP address of the website user you wish to block, a list of all blocked IP address will show up in your IP Deny manager. You can remove them at anytime.

How to Find an IP Address

There are different methods you can use to find the IP address for a domain. Using a IP address lookup tool is the easiest way however you won’t need to use this tool if you have the domain name you wish to block from viewing your website.

The Who.is website provides a range of tools for IP Address lookup and DNS records.

The IP Manager in cPanel is the easiest way to block any domain, I.P address or website/blog users from accessing your site if you need to.

How To Block a Country IP Address

This is not something i recommend you do however you can read more about how to block an entire country from accessing your website at Country IP Blocks.

Hopefully you’ll never need to block anyone let alone an entire country but the tools are there if you need them.

Adobe Target has enabled processes and settings that allow you to use Target in compliance with applicable data privacy laws.

Collection of IP addresses

The IP address of a visitor to your website is transmitted to an Adobe Data Processing Center (DPC). Depending on the network configuration for the visitor, the IP address does not necessarily represent the IP address of the visitor’s computer. For example, the IP address could be the external IP address of a Network Address Translation (NAT) firewall, HTTP proxy, or Internet gateway. Target doesn’t store any IP addresses of the user or any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). IP addresses are used only by Target for the duration of the session (in-memory, never persisted).

Replacement of last octet of IP addresses

Adobe has developed a new “privacy by design” setting that can be enabled by Adobe Client Care for Adobe Target. When this setting is enabled, the last octet (the last portion) of the IP address is immediately hidden when the IP address is collected by Adobe. This anonymization is performed prior to any processing of the IP address, including before an optional geo-lookup of the IP address.

When this feature is enabled, the IP address is made sufficiently anonymous so it is no longer identifiable as personal information. As a result, Adobe Target can be used in compliance with data privacy laws in countries that do not permit the collection of personal information. Obtaining city-level information will likely be significantly impacted by the obfuscation of the IP address. Obtaining region- and country-level information should only be slightly impacted.

The following settings are available:

  • No obfuscation: Target does not hide any part of the IP address.
  • Last octet: Target hides the last octet of the IP address.
  • Full IP: Target hides the entire IP address.

Target receives the full IP address and obfuscates it (if set to Last octet or Full IP) as specified. Target then holds the obfuscated IP address in memory for the duration of the session.

Contact Adobe Client Care to determine which setting you are currently using or to enable the IP obfuscation feature.

GeoSegmentation

If you enable the replacement of the last octet of the IP address, the remaining values of the IP address can be analyzed using reports in Adobe Target. If the last octet of the IP address has not been obfuscated, then the full IP address can be analyzed in Adobe Target. You can use the GeoSegmentation feature to map out visitor location by geographic area. GeoSegmentation data is granular only to the city level or zip code level, and not to the individual level.

If IP addresses are completely obfuscated, GeoSegmentation and geo targeting is not available.

Opt-out link

Adobe Ip Address Block

You can add an opt-out link to your sites to enable visitors to opt-out of all counting and content delivery.

  1. Add the following link to your site:

    <a href='https://clientcode.tt.omtrdc.net/optout'> Your Opt Out Language Here</a>

  2. Replace the clientcode text with your client code, and add the text or image to be linked to the opt-out URL.

Any visitor who clicks this link is not included in any mbox requests called from their browsing sessions until they delete their cookies, or for two years, whichever comes first. This works by setting a cookie for the visitor called disableClient in the clientcode.tt.omtrdc.net domain.

Even if you use a first-party cookie implementation, the provided opt-out is set via a 3rd-party cookie. If the client is using a first-party cookie only, Target checks whether an opt-out cookie is set.
